Trying to make the Hohensalzburg Fortress in Salzburg, Austria, comprehensible to me as a figure and organism, I worked with the idea of a ‚Getting Touchy-Feeling‘ to get closer with the Mind of the fortress. In its belly I hung shelves from the floor to the ceiling. Attached to them are found pieces of paper from the storage rooms of the Salzburg Summer Academy; making notes, letting areas of color run in, or following footprints on the paper with paint. They remind of the common work from small and large participants; the fortress, the artists and the found papers, showing particles, traces, elements, lowest common denominators; ladders to attach art, to climb the fortress within the fortress, to decipher some DNA from this architecture.
