Electric scooter retrieved from the Seine, Paris, 108 × 46 × 105 cm
During my residency at the Cité des Arts in Paris in 2019, I observed how electric scooters had become a ubiquitous presence in the city. At the same time, many of them were being thrown into the Seine — acts somewhere between protest, boredom, vandalism and urban friction. The scooter presented here was retrieved from the river during that period. Covered in mud, rust and sediment, it had already undergone a transformation shaped by the water and the riverbed.
