When my father asked me to create a death mask of his face, I reversed the commission and asked him to make a death mask of mine. During the process of molding and casting, the wax busts were temporarily wrapped in bubble wrap for protection. This moment of care – a gesture meant to preserve the fragile forms – became the final sculptural decision. The bubble-wrapped busts were then cast in bronze. A sound composition recorded together by Hans and Johannes accompanies the sculptures.
